# What is the licence activation allowance?

Check the activation allowance for a BurpGPT Pro licence.

A standard licence includes up to **three activations**. The licence dialog shows the used and allowed activations.

`Activate` consumes an activation each time it succeeds, even on a previously used computer. **Used activations cannot be recovered.** Use `Refresh` to check an existing saved licence without consuming another activation.

Check your remaining allowance before activating again. See [Activate your licence](/getting-started/activate-your-licence.md) for activation and refresh instructions.
